What are your thoughts on this poem?

Im 12 years old. Love to right, if you hate it dont bother commenting because its the type of poem either ya luvvv er u hate.ps i wrote this today

Sitting in the rain knowing thats it over

Sitting in the rain trying to accept the truth.

Sitting in the rain all memory trying to be forgotten.

Trying to accept that you dont love me anymore.

Rain drops falling on my skin

the touch as cold,

as ice, feeling the shock sting me.

Knowing that i loved you

only wondering if you felt the same

Trying to think tomoorow you will love me

but it never came.

My body frozen now,

I think that my thoughts are driving me insane.

I knew that i should get up,

live the freeezing place

Know that eventually,

death would be my fate/

I sat in cold

I sat in missery

Tears i cried,

rolling down my cheeks.

My hands numb.

I still think only of you.

The words you said

and what they meant,

I look down and see the bracelet you had once

given me.

Forever it said.

.............................

What are your thoughts on this poem?
Amazingly deep!! For a 12 year old, you put a lot of raw emotion and feeling into your writing, and you write like a more mature person would. This is incredible poetry. If the poem speaks you an experience you had, I am sorry and hope you get better, because heartbreak is never an easy thing to get over. I should know!! Anyway, you are a born writer, and you're talent shows. Keep your head up kiddo, because you're good and you have a bright head on your shoulders. Everyone doesn't get this kind of talent, so take advantage. You have a great future ahead of you. Great poem!!
Reply:you have fire something is required to kindle it
Reply:A few spelling errors, but over all it is fantastic. This is exactly how I felt yesterday when I found out what I already in my heart knew was true. Keep up the heart felt work, maybe one day you could write for Hallmark.
Reply:heart aches a bummer very good for 12read this

puddles

the days were happy

but oh when the rains came

salty drops of water

if only they were rain

heavy eyes drowning out sorrows

clouding up my memories

so i can think about tomorrow

puddles at my feet

reflections of my memory

the past is hard to beat

the reflections keep looking back

Please give me your true opinion of my poem....?

Rain at last

I sit all alone so quietly reading.

Though noises I hear, I read on, unheeding.

Until that one sound that alone Iam needing;

The sound of the rain beginning to fall.

Of a sudden the book is back on the table,

I run out the door as quick as I'm able.

In slippery mud my feet are unstable,

But raindrops have beckoned, I've answered the call.

So here I am barefoot, the scent is breathtaking!

This shower is ecstasy, joy in the making.

In no time I'm drenched, with cold I am shaking,

But nothing can mar this joy that I feel.

This rain, the one reason that flowers are growing,

It cleanses my soul, my heart is o'erflowing.

And then thunder crashes; the wind how it's blowing!

I hear it, I feel it, I see it, it's real!

I can hardly believe it, so long have I waited,

To feel this crisp rain on my skin.

My mind is re-opened, no more am I jaded,

I feel so completed deep within.

Please give me your true opinion of my poem....?
Not that keen I am afraid. To me it is at though you have tried too hard to make the lines rhyme, and so not all the lines make sense, or appear backward, "until that one sound that alone I am needing", "with cold I am shaking", doesn't really make sense, rhyming for the sake of it.

And the last verse seems out of place, not as long, and not in the same style at all.

That said poetry is more for the person who writes it, and everyone is different, so if it makes you happy writing it, then cool.
Reply:i hate it
Reply:i like it i give it a 8/10
Reply:its kind of hard to follow and it doesn't make much sense

but it you changed it around some it could be good
Reply:Bravo ( crowd cheering) standing online ovation. it was great!
Reply:it has good potential, it just needs edited a bit ....

makes me feel like dancing in the rain ;O)
Reply:I liked it. I think you have a poweful voice and need to keep writing.
Reply:I get this poem! It's about a girl/boy who has never felt the rain but finally has he chance to feel the felling of the rain on their skin. It's the most beautiful thing in the world. I love it! I'm a poet myself.
Reply:Very well done. I too live in a dry climate. The scent of rain and dust is most treasured.
Reply:Like most "poetry" here it makes little if any sense, is written incorrectly (the form) and you obviously DON'T understand what poetry is about or why it is written. It is written basically for yourself, and it's all about imagery and illusion. It lifts the spirit and opens the mind and causes the reader to think and possibly question. Your poem (which really is not a poem at all) does none of this. It seems to be all about you ("I," "I," "I") and your sojourn into the rain and the wind, and all that jazz. It's very trite, mundane. I would try another pursuit.
Reply:Seriously

Started out well with good imagery, but went completely cheesy after first verse. Shows some budding talent.
Reply:I think this is not a poem, because only emotional not from how you feel about and how you understand about.
Reply:OH MY GOSH! IT'S GREAT! I write poems too! We should talk on email! Share poems, you know! I'd give it 10/10!

At first, i thought, oh dear, not another rubbish poet. But your poem was REALLY good!

Here's a bit of one of mine;

All Alone, But With Company

They try their hardest,

Try to run the fastest.

Jaded in backwards mode,

Forever alone.

Stuck in the middle,

Out comes a little giggle.

On my own,

Once again.

On my own,

But company within.

Like it!? It's the middle verse!
Reply:I really like it! It reminds me of myself in a weird way...I actually love the way all the lines flow together through rhyme! I think that it is really good and you should keep it up!
Reply:i love it.i wish i could write half as good.you should publish this.im giving you a star for this magnificant poem.please keep writing!
Reply:When i read it i thought of the rain as a metaphor but everyone seems to have tken it literally, how did you mean it? (ludownes@gmail.com) I really liked it though...and i think your punctuation works well!!! Brilliant, well done!

sorrel

Just would like honest opinions on my poem...?

Release the stars

Lightening strikes in different shapes and sizes, making me bleed; weighs down the crisis. I feel like cursing, shouting to spaceships; Screaming so loud, fill in the spaces.

I stuck in the dagger, straight to the heart, twisted it, melted it, and tore it apart. Intentions lose in the game of life, killing and crying, accept and denying. My skin is so numb that I can't feel the rain, sizzle my skin till only bone can remain. Emotions run thick, pour down like molasses, sticky and luring me; the bitter surpasses The sweet. Retreat. I can't take this pressure, explode and then measure the tears that fall. Calling out to the sky for peace. Release the stars, let them fall on me now, show me how To live. I can't give anymore, take anymore, I am full to the brim, living in sin, Dying in truth, please hide the proof that this life is confusing, and bruising. I wake up and throw up, please let me sleep, blink and repeat. Tired of feeling. Let me close my eyes for a while, smiling in dreams that sing me to sleep.

Just would like honest opinions on my poem...?
Very nice rhyme and meter. And I like the way you have used the weather (lightning/rain) to reflect your feelings (explode, tears, full to the brim and so on). The only bit that didn't quite fit for me was from "I wake up and throw up"onwards, only because you didn't seem to have been asleep for the first part of the poem (maybe it could be used in a separate poem?). It's well written, but I liked the idea in the first bit that you were out and exposed in the storm which matched your raging emotions, and not just asleep and dreaming. Oh, dear, I'm sounding like a cranky old English teacher. I particulraly liked the lines "twisted it, melted it, and tore it apart". "killing and crying, accept and denying", "sticky and luring me, the bitter surpasses." and "blink and repeat". ("Blink and repeat" has a nice nightmare quality to it). You are obviously talented. LOL

Why is my skin so soft after going on a ski trip?

I just got back from skiing at Ski Apache, Ruidoso, NM. My skin all over feels so soft, even compared to a day ago when I was still in Ruidoso. I used my own soap, except when I washed my hands.

A big factor could be the sudden change in humidity. I left there (elev. 7300 ft.) with low humity and came back home (elev. 900 ft) to it raining buckets.

What caused my skin to be so soft?

Why is my skin so soft after going on a ski trip?
Well snow sports are usually very physically demanding, so the softness could be due to increased circulation and the moisture from all that sweating.
Reply:its probally because of the layers of clothing you wear and the fact that you sweat when sking so the sweat mosturized your skin and made it soft.

Whats that song on.....?

Is it normal for me to suffer from depression and yet treat rain as a cure??

I am 16 years suffering from depression...

On meds that do no good....

The only thing that I consider close to happyness is feeling rain fall on my skin....

Is this normal behaviour???

Is it normal for me to suffer from depression and yet treat rain as a cure??
I think that it is normal. For you, that feeling may be that the rain is washing everything away, that your being cleansed. I love the feel of rain. I am clinically depressed myself but I believe that the meds do work....they aren't great and you dont feel great but you dont feel as horrible. I was on them, and then I took myself off because I thought they didn't work. After being off I felt better for a little while but then I went back to my old ways again. I was still depressed when I was on the meds but it felt better than how I still feel now.
Reply:i also suffer from depression and i also love the rain and most of all lightning storms they rock i have found that being outdoors like camping and such as much as i can helps the depression so the hardest is winter i can't do much cuz i hate snow but you behavior sounds normal to me try changing the lighting in your house also look for brighter bulbs this will help
Reply:No - but there's nothing wrong with rain. Clinical depression needs medical help - I know because I've been there. If your meds are not working- and they often take a long time to kick in- go back and see your doctor.Good luck.
Reply:I don't know about normal, but I've had the same thing. Also just being near water of any kind especially the ocean, but a lake or mountain stream will do. Somebody told me it's a spiritual thing but I don't know.

I think that water has a deep emotional satisfaction trigger for some people, kind of like the satisfaction of eating when your hungry. Water is the source of life as it were so it would make sense that deep in our animal brain there would be something to reward us for being near it.

Another reason that rain may have a calming effect is that, again on an animal level, if it's raining that means that the predators aren't out hunting so we're safe, the neighboring tribe won't attack so we're safe, and we can't do much work ourselves so we can just relax. Again it would make sense to me that our brains should have some primitive mechanism to tell us to chill out if it's raining.

The two little theories of mine that I mentioned above would both relate to stress caused depression more naturally I would think. Is your depression related to stress or fear in some way?

One last trick, I've stopped using the word depression with myself and started using the old word melancholy. It sounds much nicer to be melancholy than depressed, and if you think of it that way you can allow yourself to actually enjoy the mood and have fun with it;-%26gt; Try getting some blues music and maybe even a 'blues' outfit, an old hat or something and when you're feeling melancholy just allow yourself to. Enjoy it even. Who says it's bad to have the blues? Maybe put on your hat and dark glasses and write songs or poetry or go out to a blues club or have fun with it in some other way.

Good luck, I hope some of this was at least food for thought.

Outback Bob
Reply:If I am let alone I'll sit in the shower for hours at a time, rain also. And yes I am also depressed,
Reply:Oh ja, that's normal.

I too love the rain.

I get this sensation like cold rain fallinig on me. Please help!?

It's this sensation on my neck, head, arms, and hands. It feels exactly like cold rain is hitting me. Like the first few droplets that fall from the sky. Sprinkles. I do have impacted wisdom teeth, and have been having weird headaches and muscle spasms in my head and neck. My neck muscle is also swollen on my right side, from time to time. The doctor said my lymph nodes didn't appear swollen and there was no sign of cancer or infection. He thinks the swelling is from stressed muscles. I've also been seeing these little black lines, they kind of race by like a bug flying by really fast. Little flashes of light also, and there is this sort of "Bengay" burning on my head, but it only burns if I touch it. Or if I get goosebumps or something. The burning feels like it's on the skin, as well as the cold splashes. I have a weird feeling in my right hand. It feels like something is crawling on me. Could all this be from wisdom teeth being impacted? My teeth don't even hurt.

I get this sensation like cold rain fallinig on me. Please help!?
Get tested by a doctor for neurological conditions, sounds like your nerves are sending false impulses. Have you suffered from any injury to your head? You could have a problem with your brain also in that impulses are not firing as they should. Also if your taking any drugs like Ecstasy it could be the reason why because drugs like that screw around with your brain and nerves.
Reply:You sound like a very intelligent person, also a highly anxious person. You need an understanding physician who will prescribe anti-anxiety/antidepressant pills. If he cannot find the one that reduces the symptoms visit a good psychiatrist or a psychologist who consults with an M.D. who can prescribe. Also, ask your M.D. whether a glandular problem might be the cause e.g., adrenal, pituitary, etc. If you are on any medication or have any odd eating habits let your M.D. know.

Natasha bedingfeild - Unwritten. Here are the lyrics:

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined

I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Oh, oh

I break tradition

Sometimes my tries

Are outside the lines, oh yeah yeah

We've been conditioned

To not make mistakes

But I can't live that way oh, oh

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words

That you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inner visions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live you life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Reply:natasha bedingfield. I like that song , as it is an affirmation that life can be good. And tht your life is ahead of you, that your book is still unwritten and you are the author.

Reply:its Natasha Bedingfield. actually, its called unwritten.
Reply:Natasha Bedingfield sings that song. It is called "Unwritten". It is an older song that was used in the movie "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", but it just became popular again because it is the hair commercials, plus it's the theme song to The Hills on MTV.
